About Chef Matt - From his roots in a farming community close to the ocean, Matt Whaley's culinary background has taken him full circle from his tenure as executive chef at Ocean City, Md.’s top restaurant, Liquid Assets, to New York City, where he cooked at Michelin star restaurants and the James Beard House. Chef Matt is passionate about creating exceptional culinary experiences and locally sourced menu development, with more than a decade as a professional chef. He has an extensive knowledge of cheeses, charcuterie and butchery, and specializes in helping customers prepare purchases in their own kitchen. With a distinguished record in high-end restaurants and the catering industry, Chef Matt has enjoyed welcoming Washington to his creative and fresh ingredient portfolio.
